Seribu Islands Regent Asked to Find Lands for TPU

Jakarta Acting Governor, Sumarsono, instructed Seribu Islands Regent, Budi Utomo to search empty lands that will be transformed into the public cemetery (TPU). All this time, the limitation of the graveyard becomes a potential problem for local residents.

Hopefully the regent could realize it by finding lands for TPU

According to him, every island settlement should have one TPU. But, thus far, only a few that have it such as Untung Jawa Island, Lancang Island, Pari Island, Tidung Island and Harapan Island.

Then for locals living in Panggang Island and Pramuka Island use the Karya Island's graveyard.

Forestry Dept. Proposed to Add Graveyard This Year

"Hopefully the regent could realize it by finding lands for TPU," he stated, Wednesday (3/22).

Responding on this matter, Seribu Islands Regent, Budi Utomo disclosed that the availability of land is the authority of the regent administration that was previously managed by Forestry Dept.

"We'll try and will be prioritized. We will send regional heads to check potential lands that can be bought," he closed.
